no, that’s too low. The safe result would be around 110
I try to keep my blood glucose between 100 and 120. I’ve always been told 70-120 is normal, but the American Diabetes Association recommends 90-130 for adults. If you are concerned about diabetes, go to your doctor and have them check you out. An A1C test is a better indicator because it can tell how your glucose has been over a few months and is not a single snapshot that a meter gives you. Just because your meter says 65, it doesn’t mean you are not diabetic. Your glucose level should not get too low either. My mom’s and my aunt’s levels fall rapidly and they pass out. It’s important to eat small meals 4-5 times a day to keep your blood sugar levels steady. First, go get a medical test and then you’ll know if your meter is accurate.
Could be a little low but you need to make sure that you did everything ok and didn’t do anything to mess up the test results. Did you calibrate the machine (if it needs it)? Did you code it with the strips? There are so many things that you need to check out to make sure the results are accurate. If you are not sure, go to the doctor and have them show you how and get checked out by a professional. Home tests do not prove a thing if you can’t do them.
My first thoughts are why are you testing and who told you to do this as well as whose meter are you using?
As far as your results: Does the meter require calibration between tests? Did you calibrate it? Did you read the testing instructions? Did you thoroughly wash and dry your hands (or test area)?
If the answer was yes to the questions immediately above the blood glucose is SLIGHTLY low but nothing to be concerned about. Most importantly, if you “think you have diabetes”, you MUST go to your doctor for confirmation. There are a number of tests that the doctor will do as well as a full exam and history.
I am diabetic and have been told by my doctor that normal range is 80 to 115, so yours may be somewhat low. Best thing is to see a doctor and have him/her check your blood glucose.
rread the directions,,,,normal about 70 to 100
In order for it to be accurate when testing the first time you need to test after fasting, that is what usually determines if more testing needs to be done. 70 to 99 is considered normal and 100 to 125 is a level where you need to watch and check it could be you are leading towards diabetes. 126 and higher tested more than once is usually considered diabetes and more testing needs to be done to tell you if it is type 1 or type 2. If you are running lower than the 70 when fasting I would still have it check by your Dr. it could be a sign of hyopglycemia where you have low suagrs and that also needs to be monitored and a diet low is sugar is also recommended. Best of luck to you
piper has one of the best points on here. However the ADA recommendation she gave is for already diagnosed diabetic patients. Normal bloodsugar for a non-diabetic is usually between 70-120, however it can go as high as 150 after meals, and even range in the 60s and be fine. you sound fine, but if you are really concerned about being diabetic…go to the Dr. and have run the checks. its no big deal and doesnt take long.
